Best double din unit with Nav?

Hey guys,

I did search and I'm sure this topic has been brought up before, but I was interested to know what the better double din units with Nav on the market are? Better I suppose would be best value for money. People seem to say good things about the PIONEER AVICZ2, Kenwood 8017, and Eclipse AVN6620.

If you know of another thread where this was posted that I didn't find in my search, please post the thread link.

Thanks in advance.

The Pioneers have great maps usually, I have the Kenwood 8019 (no nav) and I love it, eclipse always gives you an amazing product.
The alpine 505 is a pretty cool unit only you have to buy the blackbird to dock inside of it in order to get the nav.
The new Alpine 203 has the nav built in. I haven't actually seen the 203 but if it's anything like the 505 I'd consider picking it up.

seeing as you're in the Hammer look it up at Gibby's in St. Catharines - usually they have Alpine stuff super cheap by comparison with other retailers.

The BEST double din navigation is the Pioneer Avic-F900BT. Has everything voice command, rear-view camera, radio, navigation and good maps, dvd player, msn direct, blue tooth, EVERYTHING . . . Price runs around ebay maybe for $650-$730? I got mine for $600 on canal street in NYC. =D

I love my DNX8120

if you have the money do it

the maps are by garmin

bluetooth built in

13 band eq for the front and a sperate 13band eq for the rear

time alignment

usb and ipod controls...at the same time

this unit is great

I have used Pioneer navs (avic d3 and z2) and they are ok but dont have great sound shaping options.

I have also used Eclipes units(5510 and 6620) and the maps on those are up to date but look very old, the art work is pretty boring. The SQ is ok at best.
I wasnt really happy with it and acessories are pricey

ill post my review in a bit........

Well I have had this unit for a few days but I allready love it.
You might say love is to stong of a word....your wrong.

When you buy a Double din you usually get subpar EQ, no time alignmet, really no good sound control.

This unit has a 13band EQ control for the front and 13 bands for the rear.
Thats where it starts. You have time alignment, You can choose what size speakers you have . 6/12/24 db crossovers for EACH speaker. You can also choose the level of output from each speaker.

I have had the Pioneer D3, Eclipse 5510 and the Panasonic Strada. This is way beyond those.

The nav is Garmin so its very well laid out. I figured out most of the functions in about 20 min. You can change the voice of the nav. It has text to speech and will say all the names of the streets. The Pioneer,Eclipse, and Panasonic said some names but not all. I live in a very rural town and even those streets are said. The POIs are great.

The price is a bit high but if you want a sweet double din with great nav, its worth it.

If anyone wants a specific shot, feel free to ask
