Nearly a finished project

Well finally after thousands of wires it seems my interior system is nearly done. I have one more problem which I cant decide on and I wanted to post a couple of pics and see what some other inspired G35 owners think. Here it is: I bought a real carbon fiber kit and after I started to install it I found that the center console piece is designed to cover the bose system center part not the double din after market face. So I am trapped in a dilemma with 3 options
1: I leave the center console piece titanium with the handle and door also titanium.
2: I try and cut the center carbon fiber piece and hope that the cutting looks good and that that much carbon fiber looks good.
3: My friend who does my fiberglass builds for me thinks that if we did a custom mold around the kenwood piece and a custom mold around the center channel speaker to make it look raised and part of center piece that it would look really good. He also wants to take the door pieces and the whole center console piece and paint it a high gloss black to match exterior of the car.

Each option has problems and cosmetic issue. Right now I think the carbon fiber cutting would look good, not sure how the High gloss black would look since then I would have carbon fiber, a flat black and high gloss black colors all on the interior.

I will post a couple of pics. please let me know what you think or if anyone has any other good ideas.

i dont know how mich the carbon fiber piece is going to cover up the center console pieces . Could you take a pic of it again with the pieces just taped to the console so i could see what it will look like if it was stock?? im an installer and i might have some nice ideas but i kinda need to see the hole kit on(just with tape or something) thanks

I dont have the kit with me, from the looks of it thought it will cover about 98% or so, even though this kit is made for the g35 interior, it still leaves just a bit around the edges so it would not cover perfectly even if we didnt have to cut it

Re: Nearly a finished project

we'll , if it was me I would remove the center channel spkr ,remove the Nav. cubby door and mold the speaker in that location. then move the Kenwood piece down to the bottom of the Dbl Din hole, fill in the top of the dbl din hole as to make it know a single din. Then paint the 2 center console pieces what ever color tha car is , I believe u said black. I think that will look bitchin against the C/F pieces everywhere else(dont use the ones for the center console at all). I would prob paint the door handle pieces also just to and the black in another place so the console doesnt seem so alone in the color scheme. i wouldnt cut the C/F pieces, dont think the edges would look very nice.

good luck

That kenwood speaker looks similar to my install. I used the same speaker in the same location. I just integrated it a bit differently. Here's mine:

Re: Nearly a finished project

well it looks like I will go with the high gloss black custom molding got a few details to work out thanks for the help h20maan. Anyone know a good place to sell the center carbon fiber pieces do the selling pages here get good traffic.

Question to G35audioman: did you get a largercover for the center channel because mine looks alot smaller than the one I see in your post.

Re: Nearly a finished project

I used the blank bracket from japan and cut it to fit over the center channel. Then, we wrapped the blank bracket piece with a new piece of cloth to give it a finished appearance.

Re: Nearly a finished project

Nothing against YOU, but I think the carbon press-on nails don't look that great because it's not like a regular wood trim kit which covers everything. I think the G might have too much "other" stuff that isn't covered which (JUST TO ME) make it look all cluttered. I wish you the best of luck though. Maybe the pics just aren't doing it justice, ya know? Later...........

Re: Nearly a finished project

aye I agree about the cluttered look that is what I am trying to fix/ improve I dont like the cluttered look either, I was expecting the CF to fit nearly perfectly, most pieces except the center part do fit seemlessly, it is that center part I am trying to fix. Are there any CF kits out there that do the same as the wood trim to fit perfectly.

Re: Nearly a finished project

I honestly don't know. Haven't really looked because I like the look my car has already. Adding a new HU is the only thing I've done so far along with the Viper 891XV alarm system. Any other interior mods I haven't looked into yet. Maybe some underseat lighting... but naw. To answer your question, I haven't seen such a thing anywhere, but I haven't really looked. Good luck though....
