New Car Audo for me!

Hello all, this is my first post here. I have a 2004 G35 coupe, dark blue with ebony interior and auto transmission. Non bose stereo which is currently making sound out of only one speaker (passanger rear). I figure it's about time for an upgrade so I just ordered a few things:

Alpine IVA W205 Head Unit (DVD/GPS capable)

Alpine 4x100w amp

Polk db 6501 components for front and back

I'm very excited to get to work installing it however I'm working in Colorado until the last week of January.

I got the metra(?) dash kit and the AC buttons look absolutely rediculous so I'm thinking I might try and take the factory buttons and mount them on the circuit board in place of the crappy metra buttons. Anyone done this?

Also while I'm at it, since I got the car my AC has acted very strangely. It will blow cold only when set to manual and the temp is dropped all the way to 60, then in any other temp it blows full on heat. I'm thinking maybe one of the sensors is faulty or something, any suggestions?

Very nice. Welcome! I dont know what to say about the temperature issue. My car is an 03 fully loaded coupe, and when i set the temp to 90, it can take upwards of 15 mins to heat up, and it STILL is never THAT hot like it used to be. Maybe my sensors are bad too.
I also noticed you did everything but a sub install. Was that on purpose?

Well it was on purpose to the degree that I wanted to save a little money...the system was already over $1300. I WILL be putting in a sub of some kind in the future, so bought the RCA cables and I'm going to go ahead and route them so I dont have to take the dash apart when I do get the sub. Knowing me it'll probably only take a few months before I feel like doing it

Hahha, i did the opposite. I did the sub, and no speakers. However, im getting rid of my sub/box and amp. Let me know if your interested. Its the 4080 box, 12w6 and 500/1 v2. They are all in perfect condition, and the amp is BRAND new with a warranty.

Will you be doing any kind of writeup on this for a fellow DIY? I would love to see pics and instructions before I jump into doing the same thing....

Or, if there are already instructions out there for the NON BOSE coupe.... I have been searching for a while and can't seem to find any.... maybe it isn't much different than the BOSE system, but would rather be more specific to my car.

Well I finally installed it all...took 3 days, but it was well worth it, I have a bunch of pics and I'll make a thread about the install, but it wont be a full write up/ how to. ... there are plenty available already, and quite frankly if you have to follow one step by step you have no business attempting this. That being said if you have done any car audio installs before it isn't that big of a deal.
