and what's the difference between 7120 and 5120? is it worth it?

Weird, I have the same setup. Mine's fast and interfaces with my iphone 3g perfectly.

The firmware V1.0 is the slow one. If you have the F90BT and it is fast then you have V2.0 firmware installed on yours. On my wifes it was slow as molases going up in the winter until I installed the firmware update, now it is fast. No more slow load times, the bluetooth is ready to go before she even backs out of the drive.

what is the advantage of having a higher pre-out voltage radio? what worjks best with the facotry bose amp and speakers 2v or 4v?

high pre out voltage means that when you go to add an aftermarket amp the amp won't have to work as hard to reproduce a high level of quality sound. that's the main thing with preout voltage.

it's a non factor if you're using factory equipment because you don't use them. unless you use the 7551 harness in which case you want at least 4v

Kenwood 7120, have it and love it, Garmin + ipod interface sold me on it, well worth the money.
