pioneer - built in bluetooth +1
pioneer - 4 volt preouts +1
Kenwood - Garmin maps +1
Kenwood - Fastest Access to iPod Audio/Video with High-Speed iPod Control (need adapter) +.5

sadly you're comparing entry level kenwood to pioneer's top of the line.

Kenwood - 6.95" screen (much bigger area) +2
Pioneer - Higher voltage preouts (4V-2V) +1
Pioneer - Front SD slot (Kenwood usb dongle in rear) =
Pioneer - Built in Bluetooth +1
Pioneer - Ipod ready (no accessories to buy) +1
Kenwood - Fastest Access to iPod Audio/Video with High-Speed iPod Control (need adapter) +.5
Pioneer - slow interface and boot up (from what I've been told) - points varies per user if you don't need to input your destination right away it's not going to bother you because it still plays the last thing that was playing when the car was shut off. IF you aren't patient - 234 - cuz it does take a while

I am looking at the Pioneer 90BT or the JVC KW NX7000.
Basically I am at a loss for which one to get.

They both have their selling points..
Pioneer having the built in bluetooth and flush display
- although I have heard about the very very slow ipod interface which is a concern..
-and the annoying turn by turn directions..

JVC a little more pricey but it has a detachable face..
(I park on Chicago Streets)
I would have to purchase a ipod adapter and bluetooth..
But I have heard good things about the GPS.
I have not been able to get any info on the speed of the ipod interface..

Anyone have any info on the JVC or know someone who has it any feedback would be much appreciated!

-I already have the JDM double din, so basically I just need to make a decision and get one of these installed!
Thanks!

I'm partial to Kenwood, and Alpine. I sold Alpines after I got my Kenwood 8019 (last year), and the 505 is an amazing unit, and since then they've come out with an all in one. for the amount I use my GPS I like the factory unit so the 505, 8019 works great for me.

Honda Accord
I just installed a 900BT (Premier model) for my friend a couple of weeks ago. I like the interface and everything, but the thing is sooooo slow! It was a huge disappointment for me. Also, it did not work with iPhone 3G. If I were you, I'd find a nav unit that's HDD based.

sorry Mjion
why not be more open-minded to different units?
Kenwood and Alpine seem to be the leaders, the Pioneer has a bunch of great functions however they're far from perfected so far. JVCs are decent units, except the detachable face is MASSIVE (thick)

Yeah, Maybe I will have to change it all together and go with a Kenwood.
From what I hear they have the best ipod interface and are basically a great "all around unit"
I have not done much research on the Alpine but I had a alpine w ipod installed in my old car and I loved it.. Off the little research I have done it seems like all of the options are add ons..

I was leaning towards the JVC honestly because of the detachable face, I would hate to install over $1k worth of electronics just to have it lifted..

But I guess if someone wants to break in and steal the unit they may still do it even with the face removed..

If I EVER make a decision I will let you all know, and I will be sure to put up some pics!

Be patient in choosing a deck that's right for you and think about it, if someone is going to steal your deck they might as well steal the car... it's not the easiest deck to steal once installed

I got the AVIC F90BT for my wifes Xterra. Yes it was slow until I updated all of the firmware on the stereo. Everything is much faster. The update is free to order from Pioneer, all you have to do is register your stereo with them. Plus I know how to bypass the sucker, hahaha.
