How to fix the CD ERR F0 problem....

So i called my local shop and they want to charge me 200 to fix the radio and they said it would take about an hour. Does anybody here have a DIY list of what needs to be done? I did a search but found nothing.

I'd love to save the money for something else like bills!

Would be great to get a list of parts and a DIY video. Can't believe this has not been done yet and sticky'd, all the threads i read simply state buy another one, or too bad, but there ARE people FIXING these units so the answer is out there.

IIRC, the problem is a nylon gear that strips out from repeated loading, but yes, it's damn expensive to fit out of warranty. If someone's done it themselves, by all means share.

There are shops all over that do this repair, someone here has to have the capability. The shop told me it would take an hour to fix so it cant be THAT tough.

most of us don't like the factory unit as it is
so we moved onto aftermarket decks

Understandable, but there are those that would fix it themselves if they new what to do.

Mines broken too, looking like I'm gonna have to go aftermarket. I think my warranty is done.

I've never had the unit out of the dash, but I'm guessing the repair isn't something most can undertake. It would appear that no one's done it themself as of yet.
