BOSE AMP turns on after Volume is at 20.
My 05 G35 came with the BOSE system. I notice now the factory Amp will only turn on if you bring the Volume to 20. Then you can back the Volume and the Amp will stay on. This happens whether or not the car has started or is in motion or at any speed. Is there a hidden setting I have missed or is the system not working correctly?

With the Aftermarket Speakers I have installed, the Bose system sounds great as long as the Amp is On... I just wish the Amp would be On at all Volumes...I just thought this a radio setting selection or this a software design problem by Bose?
So you have absolutely no output until you put the radio above volume 20? There is an amp turn on wire that is active as soon as the ignition is turned on. It is a green with white stripe wire on my 04. Have you done any other electrical mods besides new speakers?

I haven't noticed the amp turn on issue. But, like nsyr stated, my bass and treble levels reset to flat each time the radio is switched off and back on. Visually, the settings remain the same, but you can hear the difference. I have to bring either of the levels back to flat manually and back up to my prior setting in order for the sound to correct itself.

BOSE Amp turns on after Volume reaches 20
The other settings work good. They stay in memory after you turn off the radio or car. The AMP seems it needs a trigger level of 20 before turning on.
Sort of works the same way as a HOME Theater Auto switching Amplifier Sub.There is a big difference when it turns on. Volume increases, Dynamic response is greatly improved. Besides replacing the stock speakers, nothing has been touched. It would be a good system if the Amp would be on without having to increase to 20 before lowering it again.

I've noticed that I have to turn my volume up to 20 to get much treble output. Otherwise it sounds really flat. Maybe it's doing the same thing as the other 2. I have an 05 Sedan. Really thought the system sounded like crap until I figured it out. Not it's bearable until I decide to tear it apart and put in my old stuff.
