Value added of Navigation
Value added of Navigation
I have a local dealer watching for a clean '06 G35 coupe 6MT and I am contemplating if I should look for with or without Nav. I'm told the price difference is $1500. I think it is cool, but don't know if it is $1500 cool. I have a Garmin to get me where I want to go. What else does the Nav do on an '06 that would make it worth this expense?
it's more of a convenience thing. it does a bit more than nav, it will prompt for your services, give you a break down of your fuel mileage over the last 10 times you reset the report... interesting if you like track that stuff
1500 will get you a nice DDin nav aftermarket unit and the JDM bezel later on if you feel like you need that -- better sound, and better functionality -- no vehicle maintenance tracking though
Depends on what you want. When shopping around for my car I wasn't to crazy about having the oem navi, I was going to get the DD conversion. I found a car with oem navi and I love it. I dont have to worry about anyone trying to steal an aftermarket navi plus it just looks a hell of alot cleaner imo.
I have never seen the price of a used car with oem nav change by $1500. From my experience those types of options are more selling points and not price points. Good luck.
You can go on most of the car value estimator sites and see what the nav option adds and i would still only use that number very loosely in factoring in the value.

and the used car price between navi and non-navi is VERY slim. chances are they dont even know about it, since its a pop up.
the diffrence between navi and non-navi is like 5k miles on the car. its almost the same if you can low ball them.
