Hi,

Just wondering if some of you have some pics of the connection to be made on the Pac unit, just wondering about the resistors, how do you connect them all on the pins and stuff,

Anything would help, would give me a heads up, thanks.

 

I'm probably not the best person to help since I am still unable to get my steering wheel controls to work. But I'm pretty sure I have the connections right. 150ohm on the green wire, 47 ohm on the red wire. Connect the other ends of both resistors to the white wire of the PAC. Red wire connects to ACC, black wire connects to ground. The green yellow cable connects to your headunit.

I've seen someone do a nice writeup of this including pictures. You can do a search for it.

 

what deck did you buy? kenwood?

I have the same problem.....did everything down to the details.......but only volume up, mode, and track up works

 

I just found a tech brief in the pac-audio website regarding Kenwood HU. Apparently the green/yellow wire is soldered on the wrong place inside the SWI-JACK. I'm thinking this is why I can't get the controls to work. Will try it out tonight and see. I've been banging my head on this steering wheel control thing, but now I see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Do you know what model that problem is on, mine is the new little blue box

 

I threw mine in the garbage last week. First thing in my life Ive not been able to figure out.

Click on Technical Docs tab. Then go to Tech Briefs. There's only one item there, for Kenwood. Didn't say for which model. I'm thinking it's for all models.

I also emailed PAC audio about debugging this. Here's what I got.


when the install is done correctly the white wire going into the SWI-JACK module should rest around 4.9 volts DC. Every button pushed on the steering wheel should drop the voltage to a different voltage below 4.5 volts DC. All readings are taken with the ignition on.

I'm going to try the mod soon...as soon as I finish all my housework

 

Ok, did the mod and everything is working now. Finally...I can say my project is done. I've attached a couple pictures to show you what I did. As soon as you connect the blue/yellow wire to the red wire, you can start your HU and test the steering wheel control. Mine worked the first time, which tells me that I programmed it correctly before. Normally I'd solder the wires together. But it's late and I don't want to wait for the soldering iron to heat up. So I went the easy route. Just make sure you tape it well if you'll do the same thing. Hope this helps someone.

Finally Connected mine, didnt had to switch the wire but i did check and it was already at the right place,

Everything is working as it should works fine

Good stuff. Just wondering, where did you buy your PAC module? I bought mine at ebay, might have been an older batch.

 

i got mine on crutchfield......I'll have to check sometime this week if i got the good or the bad batch.
