I'm having the same issue as many people with the stock bose set up AC controls not working and unit blacked out...

So I went and purchased the JDM double din kit now just need to figure out how I am going to run everything

I want to replace the bose speakers and swap out the bose amp... I am not an Audio head so help me out.

1.) are the speaker wires from the bose system decent - I read how much of a headace it is to run speaker wire.
2.) I'm figuring I can just use the speaker wire from the bose system to the new amp
3.) I didnt really want to run two amps so I was considering a 5 channel kicker amp?
5.) I use to see a sub enclosure for sale on ebay went on the side of the trunk couldnt find them

 

IMO, it's fine to use the stock speaker wires to the front doors. It's easy to run new wire to the side panel speakers in the door, if you want to use rear speakers.

From your new HU, run RCA cables to the amp in the trunk. Don't use the stock wires for that.

A 5 channel amp is a great choice.

I am between the kicker 5 channel or a JBL 5 channel. I'm not sure of what componets to go with.
