Exclamation Preparing to install Pioneer Double Din, Want to make sure I have everything

Hey guys so im prepping to install my new Pioneer double din i just want to make sure I have all the parts I need to properly do the install.

Headunit - Pioneer AVH P4100-DVD

Nissan Diversity Antenna
Metra 70-7551 Harness
PAC SWI-PS
JDM Double Din Kit w/ AC Controller

only other thing i can think that i might need is some sort of "relay" to do the DVD bypass and also ive never done wire crimping or splicing and tools i need. Any help would be great, ie DIYs or tips, ive done a lot of searching and havent found a really good DIY for a double din install with pics. Thanks a lot guys!

have you looked at the stickies? -- should have plenty of info there....

I have never done the DDin install, but from what I have read here you should have everything your supposed to.

As far as crimping...it's real easy, go to Home depot, buy some crimp caps and a wire crimper/stripper....should be good to go...

You're probably going to need a trim ring to avoid a gap in the JDM kit.

Here's the way I did mine:

And yeah, #1 sticky for this forum:

Very good 05 coupe dash removal DIY.

The kit I used to fill the gap cost all of like $10.

If your system came with a proper trim ring, that's the best way to do it, unless it isn't big enough.

Hey I am too, I'm getting the Pioneer AVH-3100DVD. Of course I don't have much yet but I'm getting:

1. Double din HU
2. JDM double din kit
3. Nissan Antenna
4. Harnesses
5. Steering wheel control

Please post pics asap once you get it install. Are you DIY or pro?

***does all hu that have dvd has that option of shutting down when car is in motion? I might need to get that too

No real kit to do the dvd player in motion mod. Just search around on the HU you put in.

will do, i got all my stuff, just need the time to put it in. im thinking im gonna wire everything (harnesses, bypass, etc) before i tear everything apart so when i take the headunit out and put the pioneer in, itll be plug and play essentially.

You guys get your HU off crutchfield? I;m getting the 3100 and they are giving out massive free stuff with free shipping for 449. That is the best place to buy ur HU if its going to DIY. Me on the other hand have no intentions with ****ing with anything in the back so i might it to the shop. I calculated the amounts of the items and the installation together. Looks like it is going to be 1k, if you can please post up a DIY on that or PM me, if its easy enough i might DIY and save 250 on installation
