You're point is valid though...I'll come up with the number. In designing this box, I didn't use ideal volume as a guideline... With the space to work with being a premium, use of space as a guideline...not an audiophile's answer, but the truth. I still wanted to have some trunk left. With two 10's and 600 watts....I'm certain that I'm going to have all the bass I'll ever needs and most of my trunk.

I will say that there were prefabricated Boston Acoustic boxes (made for the G2) at the store that are awfull close to the size of my box. I couldn't use it because of height clearance. But for the volume lost in my reduced height, I gained back by efficient use of the matching angle in the back of the box...I suspect I'm close.

It's easy to calculate air space, even with extremely odd shaped enclosures. What you do is get packaging peanuts and pour it in the enclosure and make sure you spread it out (most accurate would be grains of rice/salt but that's messy and being off just a little is not going to make that much of a difference).

Then get a 12 x 12 x 12 shipping box and pour as needed till you determine how many boxes you fill up and of course the box you're putting the packaging peanuts in 12 x 12 x 12 = 1 cu. ft. (for those that are unaware).

Good idea. I ended up breaking up the box into 3 zones and added all the zones together. That's a very good idea though...

Sorry...havent been on in awhile. I dont have pictures of the wiring other than what you see on the outside. I had it installed at Stereo Superstore of Whittier. In order to save some money on the build...I designed and built the box...that was the extent of my involvment.

Eventhough I'm yet to make the refinements with the internal volume (decreasing it to 1 cubic foot), It still sounds good. For the most part, I listen to rock music so the punchiness of the sealed enclosure complements it well... With that said...I do have some old school beastie boys come up on my ipod that sounds pretty good as well.

If I ever get around to tuning it...I'll be sure to post feedback. Cheers.

I know this is an old thread, but anyone reading who has an idea.
How can the wires be placed inside the rear seats? Is the back cover of the seats removable or is it more involving than that?
Also, wouldn't the amps suffocate and overheat with lack of air circulation whenever the rear seats are lifted up?
