I would buy the brain from the shop installing it - in the end you'll get better support.

Most shops will charge more to install a customer provided alarm, and if anything at all goes wrong they'll hand you the product and point you to the door.

In my experiance, the only module worth getting is the back up battery. The tilt sensor and glass break sensors, for the most part, are overkill.

Nissan vehicles have a very "standard" way of gaining access to them. Any experiance thief is going to have your battery cable cut in under 20 seconds from the time the alarm goes off to the time the cable is cut, regardless of which sensor sets the alarm off. A good thief won't actually set the alarm off until the drivers door is opened (which can be done without tilting the car or breaking the window).

How much would they charge if you provided the alarm? I would be surprised if they would even touch it if you didn't buy it from them. When I used to be an installer we would charge an extra $10 installation fee for speakers, amps, changers, and head units that were not bought from us, but we wouldn't touch alarm systems unless they were bought from us.

Remember the single most important part of an alarm is the installation!

OP where do you live?

I think the shop charged me around $325 to install the alarm and the 4 extra modules I took. The only thing i paid for was the installation and the interface module. They didnt have any problem installing any of the parts i didnt buy from them.... Though i do understand why most shops wouldnt want to touch them. The $325 included the interface module i bought from them.

I also agree with KP that the installation is the most important part. The shop i was referred to already had experience installing this same alarm on other G35's, so I wasn't worried. Also, don't rush them on the install. the guy told me it would take about 5 hours to install, I told him to take as long as he needs to install everything properly.

I live on Guam, an island in the Pacific. The shop I'm going to I believe is an authorized Viper dealer.. and they've been installing them here for years. I've also had a lot of work done there so I'm not worried about them messing up my install. The head tech is also a friend of mine so he said everything will be fine. I think I'm just going to buy the stuff on Amazon and have him put it on. He said 5 hours for the install as well.

Use the validity setting rather than a timed pulse so you just crack the window on a hot day rather than be forced to roll it down completely. I'd have to check the specs on the 5902/5901 to see if they have the CC feature.
the 5901 does support this feature, but do u know where the window wires are? i have an 03 coupe

Because the window roll up/down can be controlled from the driver's side door lock, you don't need to separately tap the window motor wires. The CC feature is selectable during programming.

They are the same wires as the lock and unlock wires INSIDE the drivers door. If you connected the door locks in any other fashion it won't work. You MUST run wires inside the doors to make this feature work.
