you gotta lot of reading to do to study up then... cruise around some of the stickies...they will help you understand a little bit more of what you are dealing with in this car...

claimed power is in the area of 220w total or something like that, but that is from the amp (bose has amp in the left side of the trunk) and so the deck only puts out a low level clean signal...

if you want to compare sound quality, you have to know what your comparing...

i see this time and time again...it used to be the case, but not anymore, that swapping out HU is going to increase your SQ.... in this case, it really wont...because the signal still will pass through the factory amp, (unless you did a rewire) and the amp is the weak link in the bose system, with the speakers being a close second weakest link. The HU is actually quite decent, and with the right equipment doesn't even need to be replaced unless you want navi/ipod/dvd options...

some people will tell you to upgrade to Infiniti Kappas first, leaving everything else the same...in my eyes that's a complete waste of money as the factory amp is still the biggest problem.

do some more searching and reading... and you will start to see your options...but i wouldn't throw in a HU (plus the ddin finisher at $350, steering wheel control integration at $50, ipod at $20, then install labor) etc, and expect a huge increase in sq.... it just won't happen...

you might also want to define what "sound better" means to you...more bass? better clarity? crisper highs? strong midbass? a combination of these? clearly defining your goals will help us get you pointed in the right direction...

sometimes, all people wants is a little bit more bottom end umph...add a sub and amp and go from there, but no need to touch the HU and spend $1000 for that

i hope this gets you pointed in the right direction

Its not better sound quality im looking for. my personal opinion the bose system sounds pretty well. but someone did tell me that adding a aftermarket HU might acutally sound not as well. I do want the DVD/ Navi....and I already do have the Double Din (i got the metra i got for 100 wasnt worth the 350 for the jdm.) and i also already have a 12" Alpine type R and amp i want to add

well, it sounds like you already know what you're doing...why the question? if you use the correct harness for the install, all should sound the same...
