I have been experiencing a whining sound when I hit the accelerator at around 75 to 80 mph. It sounds like it's coming through the speakers, or at least it's definitely in the cabin. Does anyone know what could be causing this, and if so what do I do about it?

 

This is a topic that has been discussed a length on this forum, as well as on the internet in general. Search the forum and GOOGLE for the information you seek.

 

But it is most likely a ground issue, check grounds for good contact.

this wasn't much of a constructive piece of advice...if all you are going to add is to find it on the net, why write anything at all, and let people that want to help do that.


anywho... probably what your experiencing is a ground loop...this introduces noise into your audio system, a whining sound, and typically rises with speed...

Sure it is. One of the basic rules of the forum is to make sure you do your own homework first before asking others to do it for you.

No one wants to help you out if you're too lazy to do your own research. If you make a good effort do your research before asking your question then people are going to be more apt to help you out.

This topic has been covered extensively in many, many threads, and its more appropriate to look up that information first before asking the same thing again.

 

Well, I appreciate all your advice. I turn to this forum for information first, because I know there are people on here that know more than I do. If I knew an answer to a question someone asked....... I would probably answer it......... and not tell them to do their own research. It's a little rude. This is what forums are for.......... discussion. After being told to do my own research, I did. I found out that the direct answers to my question made more sense, and alleviated the problem. Thank you to those of you who had constructive advice.

 

Oh yeah, I apologize. It is an entirely stock system, not BOSE. I'm sure this will alleviate the problem. Thanks again.

hey sorry man g35driver hasn't been kind to me lately. I can't seem to post responses and sometimes I can't get on the site anymore, and I don't have a blocked IP, so I dunno.
Anyways, first thing to do is check your grounds. After that, what volume are you listening to when going 80mph? The Bose system isn't really designed to go louder than about 25, after that you start getting bass rolloff. Meaning you're getting less low end and more highs. The reason I mention this is because if your highs are more pronounced you're going to get a clearer image of the distortion that naturally occurs in the car - usually having to do with the grounds. I'd reground the deck and amp. Passed that there really isn't a whole lot you can do.

 

I'm working on it now,and will let you know how it turns out, thanks
