ipod connector needs either sat button or cat
i have been looking at the pac ipod connector for my 2006 g35, all the info i read says i need either a sat or cat button, but i have a button that says "pty cat". Does this work for what im looking to hook up?
05/06 does not have the SAT button at all. That's 03/04 only. We have a "PTY CAT" button.
To get to SAT, you hit the RADIO button and it cycles through the modes. If you have a sat unit, you'll get "XM1" and "XM2" as a choice. That's how my OEM ipod hookup works,
however, the PAC prob works different, but just wanted to say that the 05/06 never had a SAT button to begin with

here is my dilemma, i have factory bluetooth, and dont want to loose it. I also like the way the dash looks. my old car i had kappa perfects all the way around jbl 10" gto sub. I miss the sound quality. I kept the sub amp and cap. So i would only need a headunit speakers, and either the jdm double din dash or the metra(i dont like the rubber buttons) dash. how bad is it re wiring the speakers in through the head unit, and bypassing the bose amp.
^ It can be done.
You can also replace the speakers with Infinity 2ohm speakers and run them off the factory amp, it's not a perfect solution, but it is better than stock.
Right now I'm running everything stock but I have a pair of RER-6022i's in the front and REF-5022i's in the back. It's much more crisp, not nearly as 'muddy' as the stock sound.
Eventually I'll put Kappa Componets all the way around on a 4-channel with a nice 12" in the trunk and a CarPC as my HU... but that's still a few $$$ away.
