GPS mount in cubby (where can i get this mount?)

I'm looking for a mount similar to the one in this install:

http://www.hurricanewilmacancun.com/...ps-install.pdf

The website that is mentioned in this install guide does not have the mounting kit anymore. Does anyone know where I can get one like it?

my tomtom came with a circular plastic piece with double sided tape on the back, and a suction cup connected to my tomtom. you can make one. I also have mine in the same spot.

hmmm...the GPS city site seems to have a lot of different options....does anyone know which mounting ball i need for the Garmin Nuvi? Is it the A 9 1/6 inch ball mount? it looks they have different sizes...i thought those ball mounts would all be universal.

I think the ball mounts are specific to the RAM mounts on the site. The Garmin uses a fairly small ball so I figured that might work. Probably going to have to measure the garmin ball with a caliper.

here's another one - RAM-HOL-GA22U:

looks a little lower profile than the RAM-A-238U. i wonder if either one would work.

same thing but comes with screws and cheaper. Also lists compatible garmin gps. I have the nuvi 660 so I still don't know if it will fit. I doubt garmin would change the ball size for the charging cradle.

yeah it definitely will fit.

check out this video:

Also I read that the cradle does not ship with a RAM ball?? do you guys think this application will be sturdy enough to hold the unit in the cubby because the RAM-HOL-GA22U cradle is recommended for very low vibration and is meant to only hold up to 1lb.

you don't need the RAM ball - that's for pairing this with the RAM mount. and my guess it that vibration won't be an issue in the car - it shouldn't pop off just like that...

anyone willing to try?

I did a test fit with my GPS tonight. If you're like me and have the nuvi 660 or similar with the flip up patch antenna, there is not enough room. For those who have an integrated antenna, this should work great!
