Possible to retain handsfree steeringwheel buttons?

I just picked up a jdm double din for my 06 g, wondering if there is anyway to keep the function of the answer button on the steering wheel?

If your headunit supports it (Newer Pioneer do, not sure of others) you can set the button to answer.

Whether it allows the same button to hang up, again, depends on support from the headunit.

The PAC SWI-PS supports it.

will a Pioneer AVIC-F90bt upgraded to the 2.0080 update work the bluetooth button? how about with the 3.0 update? I have the 2.0080 update and am undecided if i want to fork out the extra for the 3.0 update, but if it supports the bluetooth button i may go for it

If you have the updated PAC SWI-PS that supports Pioneer Bluetooth commands, yes, the F90BT (both versions 2 and 3) supports steering wheel remote controls for answer and hang-up. I cannot remember if pushing the answer prompts you for a name or not for voice recognition dialing. Setting the same button for answer and hang-up didn't work either.

With the SWI-PS unit, you get a list of commands that can be sent to the head unit. Vol up/down, seek up/down, track up/down, preset up/own, power, mute, answer, hang up, source, band, voice recognition (only in the absolute latest PAC SWI-PS). When you program the SWI-PS, it just asks you to press the button for each of these, or to push a button on the unit itself to skip that command. The G35 has a total of 6 buttons that can be mapped to that list of commands. I set mine to vol up/down, track up/down, mute, and hang up. Pioneer made a very poor choice in that track up/down increments the tuner instead of presets like 99% of factory controls, but since I do iPod much more, track up/down is much more important than preset up/down.

Because I've installed the F90BT, and I know which remote commands it will respond to, and how. The Pioneer U310BT responds similarly, but I have no experience programming the SWI-PS for an AVH-3200BT. I would assume that the bluetooth commands that it will react to are the same as other Pioneer units that I do have experience with.

saskicker32, you really need to get onto AVIC411, you can get the 3.0 update for free on there. It is an unofficial update that gives you the newest maps, and then you can do the X910BT update to 3.01 and then 3.02 and have your unit up to date and current.

I do need to get on that. Probably this weekend. I was just worried and skeptic since it's not the official update, but if everyone trusts it i will take the leap haha
