Not that it matters since I just bought Some MBQuart PSD 216 components for the front... but BOY was i disappointed when I took off my door panels today.

The speakers that stared out at me were extremely disappointing to say the least. I finally figured out why the sound was so muddy and localized... It's those crappy paper bose speakers... and to think I actually paid for these "upgrade" or "premium" speakers... grr!!! if it wasn't for the sunroof and heated seats...

Nonetheless I still love my G35 and I will love it even more once I get my riser fabricated and my MB Quarts into place.

OH and since I've put my door panels back in the meantime, I'll take pics of my installation when I get around to it.

 

Are you putting in the speakers with the stock head unit? If so, Let us konw how quailty and volume increses.. Ive been thinking about ordering some diamond audio's for my highs..

Pesti. yes, with stock source... but I will be putting in some amps within the next few months... I just felt the cheapest easiest DIY improvement would be getting rid of those paper speakers and those crappy tweeters...

 

Be careful with the Bose system. I've heard the Bose amp uses an oddball impedence, and you don't want to run aftermarket speakers with the Bose amp.

That's what I heard... Can anyone with Service manual let us know what the impedence is on the speakers? Maybe we can try to find speakers to match the stock impedence.
I also want to upgrade my speakers without touching amp or the head unit.

I think the Bose speakers are 1 ohm impedence.

Yeap! Bose is meant to work with Bose. I think they use the same 4.5" speakers that are in the 901's. These are about 0.9 ohms. That's why the 901's have 9 drivers in series. So that they equal 8 ohms for home use.
Does the system sound OK without amps, though?

 

Well, there is a Bose amp in the system. Sounds great to me, but then I don't blast heavy bass out of mine.

I have swamped out the front speakers too and I have add a Bass Tube since then...

The system now is not the best and alot better than the stock Bose system!!!
