I don't know why you want to put speakers in the kick panels when you have a manual. Your leg is going to block the speaker. Hector can get away with it since he has an auto.

Re: anyone have custom kickpanels?
Well having the 6 speed imo wont make a difference in the sound. I know a lot of people with manuel cars ( like my civic ) It will still give you the sound you want but in the g space sucks. i dont know how the 6 speed is with space from the kick to the clutch pedal, but I had take out my eme. brake pedal to make room. I had them built off the original kicks. If you want some built I have a guy who does alot of sema cars so he is really good. I am in san diego where are you at.
Re: anyone have custom kickpanels?
just remember you can always get a processor with time alignment or many mid level aftermarket headunits have the option as well to fix staging issues.

well, it seems the problem with kicks in the sedan is that ther eare fuses and wires that have to be moved.
ive got focal speakers that you really need to have pointed for them to sound good so i hate their current position.
I was thinking of designing a plastic reflector or something that would deflect the sound to my ears. do you guys think that would work??????????????

Re: anyone have custom kickpanels?
I don't see why the sedan would have an issue. They build off the kicks so the only thing is they stick out futher. So anything that is behind the kicks now shouldn't have to be moved.
Re: anyone have custom kickpanels?
Sorry but the reflector will not work IMO. Since the G has sooo many issues with fuse box relocation, wires everywhere, cramped space, tall console, and big side glass windows I do not think kicks are the best solution to great sound stage and toneality. Since our a-pillars are nice and thick I am working on trying some diff. drivers in the pillar. The lower a-piller tweeter location and a mid in the door work really well on most cars that have limited space. The stage is nice and high, mid bass is strong, and center image is easily achieved. The hardest thing is angle on the tweeters and polarity between mid and tweeter. Another big plus is it looks factory. If this does not work out for me I am installing three 3" speakers in the pillar in a custom fiberglass enclosure. Two of the mids will be for mid bass and the center 3" will be a coax (pic of the speaker is below). But I do not think that I will need to go this crazy to achieve excellent staging and sound quality while most importantly looking factory.
