no sorry i meant 3/4 inch. but why do u say plywood is no good? ive been told its just fine. as a matter of fact. i DJ and have seen plenty of bass bins and scoop style boxes made of plywood. thanks RX

Birch Plywood is fine, I've only seen it used for home audio and some spl cars. From the first pic I thought you may be using regular plywood. With 3/4" you are good to go. When you said 1/4" that's when I thought you may have a problem. Your all good!

is there any real diffreence between fiberboard and plywood?

as long as its thick enough and made soundly i doubt one will be able to make out the diffrence in bass response. also, have you had any experience with these subs? they are the Power HX-2's ive been told that for the money, they are better than the JL Audio's what do you say?

Generaly the regular plywoods are not as dense as the MDF. Thats why MDF is used for sub only boxes more. Brich is dense but expensive.

As far as the RF subs vs JL, sorry I have to go with JL everytime. What are you comparing Power HX 2's to the W7? If so IMHO the W7 is a better sounding sub.
