How do I get the satellite subscription code?
How do I get the satellite subscription code?
I just bought a used G with satellite capabilities. The salesman said I need to go to the XM/Sirius website and subscribe to get the service. He also said I might get a free 3 or 6 month subscription. Anyways, I went to the website and it said I need to get my radio's subscription code. So I looked in my manual to see how I get this... found nothing.
So how do I get my code so I can give it to sirius/xm so I can get satellite radio service.
I did a search on the subject, but didn't find anything.
Thanks!
Michael

It is probably asking for the radio ID.
You can look at the XM box in the trunk and write it down off the sticker, or you can turn you radio on and go to channel 0 and it will show you.
As far as getting 3-6 months free, you probably will need to call in and get that unless you got something in the mail with a coupon code on it.

yep, channel 0 is all you need.... is it 0? or 1... sounds like channel 0 is it though...
Google a discount code... they will say its not any good, but then just say, "its alrigt, its too expensive" they will return with, honoring the code... 77 a year.. some chit like that..

I was only able to tune to channel 1. I couldn't get channel 0. Channel 1 didn't offer any radio ID number, so I looked in the trunk but only saw the CD changer, no XM box with a sticker. What am I doing wrong?
What is your car?

I have an 08 sedan equipped with the navigation package. I know I have XM because I'm able to get channel 1, which promotes the various channels on XM. I can also receive a channel in the 200s, which seems to be some kind of emergency channel. I have tried everything to tune in channel 0 for the ID number, but I have been completely unsuccessful. Your link pointed out where the XM receiver is located in my trunk. Looks like I'll have to remove some trunk panels to find the tuner and hope there's a sticker with the ID number. Seems like a big hassle just to find an ID number. I just don't understand why my radio won't tune to channel 0 like so many other people's radios were able to do.

I finally figured out how to tune in channel 0. You are going to laugh your *ss off when you hear this. Before I was trying to tune channels using the seek button on the steering wheel or the toggle wheel on the dash. Wrong! For whatever reason, I turned the tuning **** on the radio and it tuned right away to channel 0, and there pretty as could be was the radio code.
Now let's hope XM will give me a free trial subscription!

I got a 3 month trial for my Odyssey Van when looking at this link. I was going to try and go for the $77/yr renewal, but decided I really didn't like the XM. Saved the money and put in an Ipod adapter instead. But FYI if it helps someone here.

how do you find the radio id number in a 2004 Infiniti G35 sedan ?
I am the original owner and the radio has a SAT button that displays NO SAT when it is pushed.
I need the code to activate Sirius XM radio
