Where is the XM radio ID to reactivate?

Hi everyone,

Please let me know if there is another post that answers this question. I searched for a long time and couldn't find an answer.

I just purchased a 07 G35S and would like to reactivate the XM Radio. I know that on Channel 0, you can find the XM Radio ID needed for reactivation.

However, XM is disabled from the Nav menu, since it's not activated.

I'm confused... I need to have XM activated to access the menu entry, but I can't activate XM at all since I can't get to the Radio ID without accessing Channel 0.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

I think All you need to do is turn on your XM radio and go to Channel 0 and it should give you your XM Id on the screen

OR your car might not be equipped with XM radio in the first place? Under the LCD screen the first button on the bottom left where you have the radio fm am, does it say XM?

It does include XM, and I have the dealer document that states that the car comes equipped with XM. One thing that I noticed in the manual is that it states that XM might not appear in the menu anymore once it's disactivated.

So the option for XM never appears, even though it has it...
I'll try looking in my paperwork again, but I didn't see it the first time around.

Do you think the dealer would have that info?

perhaps this is a silly answer but have you tried hitting the "am-fm-sat" button until it goes to XM? even if there is not an active sub you should still be able to get to channel 0 and even channel 1 for previews i think.

Thanks for your replies. I started travelling today so won't get a chance to play around with the radio again. But I'll keep you posted... I swear that the option in the menu dissapeared, and was not available...

Hey Club,

I am in the same shoes as you. I just bought an 07' G35 as well and was wondering the same thing. I am guessing it might not be equiped as an option on your G. When I scroll through my AM, FM, SAT menu the XP pops up then I just head to channel 0 as some others have stated and it gives me the code. I wonder if you brought it to infiniti if they can set it up for you even if it isnt available on yours.

Is the XM radio tuner in your trunk? Could it be that the tuner was removed from the car, since your paperwork says you have it (isn't XM standard?). Or maybe the tuner is unplugged if it in your trunk.

Channel 0 gives you the radio ID so that you can call XM and reactivate.

If you bought the car new then you should have had a 3 month free trial, the dealer has to send the paper work to XM.

If the car was bought used, the old owner may have cancelled his subscription and that deactivated your radio. Call XM they may be able to help you. Everyone who told you to check with the dealer is correct, they should have the radio ID in your paperwork (it should also be in your manual documentation as a seperate insert).

How do you tune to channel 0? On my 08 I can only get channel 1 and an emergency channel somewhere in the 400s. I have tried everything to get channel 0... can't figure it out. Can't find the XM tuner in the trunk either.
