Finished installing Pioneer avic-x920bt
I got a Pioneer avic-x920bt to install in my 03 G35 since I was having the infamous A/C and radio shorting out issue. Got a sweet deal of $486 after rebate from Amazon.
I just wanted to say thanks to everyone especially Wrathernaut for the detailed information on how to install everything. I used the jdm kit, Pac-Nis2, and Pac-SWI to do the install. I was able to get the navi bypass done and program the PAC-SWI. I got too lazy to add the dual climate button. Plus I rarely use it anyways. Everything in Wrathernaut's instructions are accurate. I'll post some pics later. Thanks again.

$486 for a X920BT is just stupid cheap for that headunit.Glad everything worked out for you
, and if somebody's needing help with an install in your area, you're obliged to help now. They are, of course, required to provide you with refreshments
The only thing hard about the bypass is getting the old pin out. Once you realize that you can cut the harness quite a bit to get it out, it's pretty easy. The tough part is convincing yourself to go at it with a box cutter.
Or you can order replacement pins and not even have to remove the wire for the bypass:

Are you able to use the stock amp for the front and rear speakers or did u just use the built in amp to power them?

Alright yes so then that would make sense. Would it be beneficial at all to use the outputs from the headunit to power the speakers themselves, or does i not have enough power.
A good stereo probably outputs just as much as the Bose amp does and bypass the horrible EQ built into the Bose amp, but I don't think anybody's every taken the time to actually measure the output of the Bose amp.
The original price on Amazon was $800 about two weeks ago. 30% off of that and plus $100 rebate. Sweet deal! The easiest way to get out the pin was to use the boxcutter like Wrauthernaut said.
I think the hardest thing was putting the steering wheel interface together since I haven't soldered in forever and had to make sure the resistors stayed connected to the wire (thanks for the pen tube tip Wrauthernaut).
I don't think the eco graph is working on the unit though. I thought the vss wire was the white/green wire that was on the steering wheel interface harness so I tapped that. Too much trouble to take everything out to troubleshoot so I just left it as is.

Well now you gotta get some pics up. I bought this same headunit and am planning on installing it in about 2 weeks. How is the navy on it. I installed ecplipse headunits in some of my other cars and I hate the nav on it.
Here are some pics I snapped with my Blackberry. There is a small gap on the bottom of the unit that I haven't fixed yet.
I haven't used the navi that much yet but it worked well when I did use it. I like the POI(points of interest) option and the ability to say where you want to go on the navi.
