Upgrade your stocks using your stocks DIY

I wanted to replace my stockers but I don't like cutting wires so here's what I did to get around that problem...

Here is the stock bose, has the mounting holes and the connector interface you'd want for both the front and the rear speakers.

First start off by cutting each spline attaching the Bose speaker to the plastic housing as shown.

Using either screw or JB Weld (or equivalent) attach your new aftermarket speaker to the Bose housing

Re: Upgrade your stocks using your stocks DIY

Finally solder the speaker wire to the stock speaker connector as shown, (notice the nice big magnet), be sure you have the correct polarity shown here (red - positive, black - negative).

This speakers are seperates with two tweeters, I left one in the center cone, and the other will go in the stock tweeter location. No cutting, just mount and click into the stock harness. Have fun...

Re: Upgrade your stocks using your stocks DIY

Stocks are 6.5, I replaced the fronts with 6.5 inch separates, and the rears with 6 inch coaxials.
