AVIC Z1-3 owners...questions on AddOns...

I hear the Pioneer iPod connector is horrible to use (slow as heck scrolling through songs/artists), so was thinking of this as an alternative:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Pioneer-AVIC-Z1-Z2-Z3-N4-Aux-Audio-Input-Cable-for-IPOD_W0QQitemZ260698745203QQcategoryZ60208QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DSIC%26its%3DI%252BC%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS%252BUFI%26otn%3D15%26pmod%3D360282841232%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D5949006814227851484
I take it ipod controls are on the ipod; not on the AVIC display?

Also, anyone use this steering wheel control?

Or do you use this one?

Anyone use the CD changer? Worth it?

Camera for backing up?

As posted in other threads you dug up, but to reiterate here:

If you're only looking for audio, just use a simple 3.5mm to RCA y-cable. That one communicates over the IP-BUS so it may require an iPod connected to even show up as an input in the source list on the headunit.

For steering wheel controls, I recommend using the Metra Axxess ASWC instead. I used to recommend the SWI-PS, but the Axxess installs faster and much easier, for the same price. There are a few headunits (Z-1 not being one of them) where the SWI-PS is a better choice, as it supports mapping a steering wheel button to the voice recognition feature.

CD changers aren't worth it at all, when you can get an iPod for less, and store a metric****ton more on them.

Backup cameras... some people have had good success with the BOYO branded ones that lock into place as a license plate frame, but me, I just turn around. It's served me well for about 16 years now.
