JBL MS8 DSP Worth It????

I am building a new system including:

Pioneer z110-bt
Boston Acoustics pro60se Components
Boston Acoustics sr95 Coaxials
Alpine Pdx F4 4ch Amp
Alpine Pdx M6
Sundown SA-10 Subwoofer

I am wondering if something like this is worth the $550.

It's a cool unit..i just don't like the fact it does the work for you and doesn't let you tweak much.
Audison bit 1 is much better imo

Or 2 mini dsp's

If you're gonna get a processor, don't buy components.

Guessing i should be getting 3 way speakers if im using a DSP? I just didnt know if the $550 was worth the extra sound improvement. I already ordered the speakers so getting 3 way is a no go at this point. I would not consider myself a car audio guru but i know as much to install everything myself. Thats why i was looking at the jbl because i would have no idea what i was doing if it was a manual calibration. I probably wont get a DSP just wanted to see what people thought about them with semi budget setups like mine.

You don't need one for your setup

Invest that money into sound deadening

The Audison may allow better customization, but you've got to have some mad tuning skills to get anywhere near what you'll get with the MS8, with no experience, in 5 minutes.

I fully agree with eggyhustles though - with what you have so far, money is definitely better invested towards sound deadening.

Yeah I was thinking about the sound deadening also. I have to replace the door actuator soon anyhow so I will probably do that then. I went on that website everyone talks about called soundeadenershowdown.com and emailed the guy to get some cld tiles and closed cell foam but no response yet so ill see. Thanks for the input guys.

I love my MS-8. If you don't know what your doing as far as tuning goes then they are great. That's my one complaint about it, just the lack of adjustment after it does it's thing, but it's damn good at what it does! If you haven't done any deadening I would do it first. Just don't go overboard with it and you'll get more for your money. On my doors I cut the deadener in 2" x 2" pieces and placed those around on the inner skin where the regulator bolts to and just placed a few bigger pieces on the outer skin.

Yeah i was going to do what soundeadenershowdown.com had said and just start off with 25% coverage with the cld tiles(vibration dampener) and then total coverage with the closed cell foam(actual sound barrier) which come in big pieces. I will probably only do my coupe doors and rear deck because it rattled with the 2 6x9 bose subs so i know it will with a 10 in the trunk and 2 full ranges in there.
