typing street address while driving

is there any way that i can hack factory navi system

so i can type street address while driving?

man this thing bugs me ...... every time when i search for a new place

on navi, i have to pull over


any tips?

There is... but our OEM navi's arent the best. Ive been mislead a couple of times. I just use my Iphone now. But I like our OEM navi's for the look.

Ya, it's a safety feature so that you don't run into my *** while you're trying to type an address into your navi, Pull over & park!

No problems here...just pull over and park..not worth hitting someone because your not paying attention.

its a pretty easy hack to do and there's a DIY on here somewhere. you need to temporarily interrupt the VSS signal (green/white wire IIRC) going into the navigation unit. you can install a toggle switch that interrupts the signal when you want to program the nav, then flip it back it when you're done (nav will jump to your current location). you can't leave it switched off all the time because the nav uses vehicle speed to know how far its gone in a given direction.

Doesn't mean your passenger can't put it in while ur driving.......
