Is 4ga Power and Ground ok for 1100w rms?
Still dont know if im swapping out my 4.100 to a different amp or just replacing it and hoping for the best. I am also going to be running my 1.600 to a sub. Would my 4ga power which i have already ran be sufficient for these 2 very efficient class d amps? Its a run from the battery to the back part of the trunk. Thanks guys!
Dunno what amp you're talking about but I'm guessing an Alpine PDX. The 1.600 is a 600w amp so 4 gauge will be fine. Easiest way to tell is by the power inputs on the amp. They'll only accept up to a certain size. Manufacturers know what size wiring is needed so if it's got an opening for a 4 awg, a 1/0 is not necessary.
For 1100w RMS, I'd go with something thicker, since you'll end up with about 12 foot of wire, and at that distance, 4 gauge is only good for about 800w.

Dang. When i looked at 12v i read that those calculations were with amps that have approx 50% efficiency while my pdx's are supposed to have 80>. Now i gotta rewire power but meh. I hope knu koncepts has some in stock now. Thanks guys!

That's not the reason for a bigger battery. How do you think your amplifier gets it's power? If it's not supplying enough, other areas of the car will hinder, example: your headlights dimming.
Been looking at the Kinetik Batteries. Would the hc1800 be ok? Says it is for 1800w but i think thats with everything else in the car. I am running a 600w rms mono amp and going to be running a 480w rms 4ch amp. This new battery has 3 times the amount of cranking amps that my current interstate megatron battery does. Thanks
According to sears website they are around $200 which is the same as the kinetik I listed. The sears diehard says it has around 800 cold cranking amps. Not sure what the kinetik has cold but says 1900 in general amps.
