Alarm/remote start problems

I've been having problems with my aftermarket alarm (autopager) my first problem is sometimes when i press the restart button the car will crank but not start. I checked the starter and its working fine i never have any problems starting while using the key. Could it possible be the remote starter going bad?

My second thing is at-least 2-3 times a week when i disarm the car it will unlock then lock right back could this be a relay problem or can both problems be blamed on my alarm? Theres times when i lock the car while in it, and ill hear a relay clicking i assume attempting to lock the car even though its locked. Hopefully there is a solution to my problems i really don't wana have to buy a whole new alarm system

Did it ever work right, or is this a new installation?

I'd take it back to whomever did the install if it worked well for some time, and I'd definitely take it back if it is a new install and demand a refund so you can take it elsewhere.

The alarm has been fine wasn't until this past fall when the remote start started to act up and just this last month the lock problem came about. I took a look at where the clicking comes from the black box under the fuse panel

For the remote start problem I would investigate whether or not they hooked up a tach wire. If there is no tach wire it is possible you'll have problems as the weather gets colder and as the car ages. Also, if the remote start issues seem to be cold related (cold weather, not cold motor) I would look in to if they hooked up the 2nd starter wire properly. If the 2nd starter wire is not hooked up the car may not start in the cold. Generally, though, if it is a 2nd starter wire issue the car won't start at all. The tach issue generally results in the car not starting the first time, but successfully starting on retries.

For the door locks, you need to know how they interfaced with the door lock system. If they used a data module get rid of it and hardwire the door locks. Yes, it is a pain and most installers won't do it, but it is the best way to handle the door locks. There are multiple ways to interface with the door locks system and without knowing which route they went it is hard to say exactly which direction to go in the troubleshooting process. I will say this though - if you hook the door locks up to the lock and unlock wires inside the drivers door it should be easy to add remote up and remote down with no extra parts (this is alarm dependent).

Where can i find the 2nd starter wire? The problem actually started in the summer but it became worst in the winter. Like you stated my car would start on the 2nd attempt during the summer once it got cold id cross my fingers lol.

I noticed they spliced into wires coming from the black box underneath the fuse box near the kick panel.......just found out the correct name for the part its the BCM

The second starter wire is located in the ignition harness with the other starter wire, the ignition wire, and the accessory wire.

Tach wire should be connected to the ECU under the passenger dash, but it is possible that they ran it under the hood to an injector or didn't hook it up at all.

Based on the fact it happened in the summer I would suspect a tach issue.
