If you're keeping it under 1000w, don't bother.

 

why ignore the doors?

 

If you have good components up front and bass in the back, you don't need speakers in the rear doors at all. Front soundstage is a good option, especially if there's budget considerations.

and for the dd head unit look up docron1 DIY. its a pdf mediafire file. it shows everything.

 

$1500 is a reasonable budget if you just go front soundstage, as I did. My total cost was just under $!,800, with everything sourced new from e-bay. I did save a couple hundred dollars by building my own sub enclosure though, and the head unit I chose was about $200 more than the one you first linked to.

Best wishes. It can be a challenging project figuring out everthing that's needed and not needed. Wrathernaut's DD conversion guide thread and Docron's install d.i.y. thread are very helpful. On page two or three of docron's thread there is a link to a video d.i.y. for removal of stock headunit, which is very helpful.

 

Just take your time and be careful and it should be smooth. I am starting my build in a month with everything. Around a 2200 dollar build. I will be posting large DIY's on almost everything as well.

 

^^ Same here. I already have the amps, sub, JVC HU, and various harnesses and connectors. I just need the sub box, front components, and the rest of the little stuff like a back up camera and sound deadening and it's on! I'll take lots of pics of the install and post a build thread, most likely late Jan. or Feb.

I was gonna do fatmat cause its cheap and its better than nothing. its on amazon for 120 shipped for 100 sq ft. which will cover the whole floor and trunk and doors. everyuthing else is around 225-300 for that much. so...... idk if i even should have it.

 

Hmmm I don't know much about the quality of deadening materials. Maybe Wrathernut or eggystyles will see this and comment.

 

research fatmat and butyl based versus asphalt based. fatmat is asphalt based same crap you can get from home depot called peel n seal. That stuff is nasty and stink up your car along with really messing with your lungs and such. Buy a butyl based deadner like raammat or secondskin. Those products are high quality and very thick so you will not need much of it in comparison. Also the whole area does not need to be deadened only some area so it adds weight to the panel and stops vibration.
