Howdy.
The '05 base stereo system is supposed to play CDs with MP3s on them. Does anybody know if it will read CDRWs? I've had difficulty in the past with CD players reading CDRs just fine, but not the re-writeables.

haven't tried rewriteables as of yet... i'll toss one in tomorrow and see... since its new, I would think it will but who knows...

btw i used a TDK CDRW and it worked... not sure about other brands but most likely they'll work. Just make sure you don't put any of those stick on labels on them...

extremely old samsung CDRW played just fine on my test drive

 

RW's are generally more tollerated than cd-r's on marginal drives.

 

TopTech, I didn't know that. I would have thought it was just the opposite, due to the materials involved. I learn something new every day!

actually from what i've seen with old CD players, they don't like CDRWs... i'm sure most CD players nowadays support them but if you have a player that was made 10 years ago, who knows...

yeah its the opposite of what TopTech said.

Most cd-players will play CD-R's however only a select few will play CDRW's.

Even today some cd-players still do not play CD-RW's.
