Speaker Recommendations

I'm looking for a set of 6.5" components for up front. Looking to spend $2-300. I'd like something with good bass and crisp highs. I was thinking about JL's offerings. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Can't go wrong with Focals, but they're the top of your price range.

Amazon Amazon

If they're that good, it will be worth it. Might check them out.

What's your thoughts on the Hertz speakers that Eggy recommended?

As always, your insight is appreciated.

Hertz is good too, I'd say proportionally good with the price as the Focals.

Thanks, I read that Focals can be brighter. I prefer a smooth, non-tinny sound. Sounds like the Hertz may be the way to go.

^ yes, the Focals I listened to were noticeably 'brighter' than other comps i demo'd.

The hertz are bright too. They're aren't any good laid back warm components for <$300

These would be my next choice, but they're 359

Thanks for the suggestion. I ended up going with the JL C3-650's. I got a really good price on them and liked the reviews I read. I figure if they're no good I can return them and try something else.

I agree with the Image Dynamics. They are worth the money.

I really dont like the entry line Focals.

To me they dont have the Focal sound.

Having spent about $3000 in speakers I don't think they were 'entry level'.
