Ok i tried to wire the sub in 4ohms and 3ohms still the same cuts out on hard hitting bass. Im thinking it may just be the amplifier? any other suggestions im listening.

If you are running a single 13W7 then you can series at 3 ohm or parallel at .75. If you were running parallel to start with you probably messed the amp up.

The actual impedance varies with the enclosure you are using. Vented, sealed, and well constructed with no leaks.

Many systems with this problem are good at idle volume and go into protect at full tilt. I would suggest checking your voltage at the amp and remember to check the remote turn on voltage, a dip in V there will cause problems. Are you using a relay for the remote turn-ons? Your deck rem out can only support so much until it needs a relay for assistance.

The other thing to remember is your system tuning. When you try and boost too much you are asking an amp to increase it's output at that frequency and that is where your impedance curve comes into play, too much gain at the dip in the impedance curve is like bumping the rev limit and not expecting to throw a rod.

Ok by this being said i had the sub wired the same as it was in the prowedge box, i think that was 3ohms, still cut out. then used a another amp not cutting out? so it seems it may be the amp?

ok i was told by jl audio that the issue was the alternator and not the amp since he was thinking on the hard bass songs the voltage would drop to low and cause the amp to cut out. keep you posted.

He's wrong.

That amp is pulling 70-80amps at full tilt

had the alternator inspected everything is good, so my last resort is the epicenter what was suggested earlier in the thread, is to disco it and see since i can play my music with no issues when i dont use it.
