Just got my double din
Hey people... I just got my double din.. I'm gonna install this as soon as I get me xmas gift which is my deck.. it's a pioneer Deh-860mp premier.. I went with that coz I like the titanium match with my din.. but my question is will the stock amp be good enough to match the deck? or do I need to get new amp? oh btw I have a 2003 sedan..

ok.....here's my take......(which seems to be repeatedly posted every 2-3 months...lol...but thats ok)
Upgrading the HU will give you better control of sound quality EQ tweaking, something the stock Clarion HU lacks...I think.
The stock BOSE amp is decent BUT remember, the stock Bose amp only drives the coupe's rear shelf 6x9" "subs" or the sedan's trunk sub. IT DOES NOT drive the front separates or the backseat side panel speakers, they are powered by the HU only!
The stock speakers suck and IMO are the truly limiting factor of the terrible or rather inadequate sound quality (saying terrible might offend people who think the stock sound quality is ok..again IMO) of the stock setup. SO......if you change the stock Clarion HU to a better aftermarket HU and you still have the poor stock speakers, your sound quality MIGHT not be as good as you expect it to be.
My advice would be to swap out your HU, KEEP the stock Bose amp and rear speakers, BUT CHANGE out your front components and you can either use the BOSE amp (with LOCs) or install a 2-channel amp to drive the the fronts. Unfortunately, there is no shortcut around the crappy stock speaker situation besides at the very least swapping out the front components.
Again, my opinion based on my personal upgrade project.....
hope this helps....

oh I forgot to mention.. I change my front speakers already with rockford 2004 PUNCH SERIES P162S 6 1/2" COMPONENTS.. So I guess no need to change the amp right? With the pioneer deh-860mp, that should be enough to run the speakers.. I'm also goin to install JL12W6V2 and a 500.1 amp for the sub.. hopefully this setup will be enough to satisfy me... Any other comments or advice on what else I need to do.. coz If i'm goin to install everything.. i don't want to have to go back and take my parts apart.. thanx..

make sure you have the Scorsche NNO3 wire harness and Nissan Antenna adapter for your aftermarket HU if you don't already have them......
The Pioneer HU should have enough power to drive the speakers adequately I think, but if you only do that and do not add a 2-channel amp, you might not utilize the full potential of your aftermarket speakers........

If I had to guess, i would guess that the sedan is similar in that the amp is driving more than 1/2 so-called subs.

Thanks for the correction....its been awhile since I messed with my Bose amp. Its collecting dust in a cardboard box in the back of one of my closets at home. I was trying to figure out a way to try and convert it to a planter for my orchids....lol
