G35 Coupe Navigation

I am a newbie to this forum. I was just surfing the web and came accross this site. I am a new G35 owner and I have a bunch of questions and ideas about the g35 Coupe that I own. I was wondering first off it was possible to modify the navigation system to play regular DVD's?

Welcome to our site.

Try our Search function. this subject has been covered many times

I entered 'Navigation to DVD player' (search Titles only) to get a miriad of threads on the subject.

I've also transfered your thread to the appropriate Forum.

A while ago I started a thread on this topic. I asked for it to be 'stickied' to the top of the audio/nav section. Apparantly no one else thought it would be a good idea. There was a lot of good information in the thread.

KPierson, I've stickied a thread for now, to be used and added to.

If it turns out productive and useful, we can keep it either sticky or put it in our DIY/FAQ forum for reference.

If you find another that can be used, bring it to my attention.

Thank you. That was the exact thread I was talking about! I really think it will cut down on the number of times this is asked about per week. You're the Man!

This may not be the question to post here but i will ask anyways. I herd that if you have a OEM NAV you can not get a aftermarket headunit to replace the bose because the NAV is tied into the bose system. Is this true?

not true, almost 100% u can change it, because the nav does not use the bose for anything

I have heard of people changing it. The biggest complaint is that you will lose the nav voice through the speakers. Some people have installed a speaker specifically for the NAV voice. Maybe someone could come up with a module to make the NAV voice work directly with the speakers?
