I think you will be able to get by on the stock Alt. It's a pretty beefy Alt as is.

If you want to do it right and not worry about it get a HO Alt.

Do the big 3 and use 0 gauge wire as well as get a yellow or red top optima battery.

I was going to do the big three and add a smaller kinetiks battery in the trunk to help. (keep stock battery up front). this will prolly be able to handle 1000 rms and some tv's and leds

Thats what I said I can just turn down the gains leksikon for lower wattage use. Also the alternator keeps charging no matter what. If the car is on, it rotates the alternator wheel creating electricity in the copper wraps. It will still create the same amount of electricity if you have 2 or 1 batteries no matter what. Adding a second battery will only help on the charging side. It would help either way.

I would suggest you do a little research before you pull the trigger.

The alternator has a voltage sense input (pin 4 on the alternator). When voltage is low it turns the alternator on causing the alternator to generate power. When voltage is sufficient it shuts off. Alternators do not operate at a 100% duty cycle.

Adding a second battery will most likely cause the alternator to operate at close to a 100% duty cycle, thus adding more strain to it, leading to a shorter life. Adding a second battery is a common misconception - it is typically only advised for car off listening (by using a battery isolator) or used in conjunction with a HO alternator.
