DIY 06 Sedan Stereo Up Grade
I know that if you search you will find a coupe version of how to put in subs with a stock system and how to install a sat receiver. I am just giving a different opinion on how to do both. Not saying the others are bad or wrong actually I have based my efforts on the other how to's.
I also plan on continuing later with sound deadening and fixes for the rattles.
First and foremost make sure you have good wire; I am using a monster 4 gauge kit that came with the subs. I had to clip off old crap connectors for good ones. this isn't the place to cheap out.
I started by removing the under glove box cover piece

simply tug a little and it will pop free.

then I popped off the door sill

Next is the screw for the kick panel

its pulled towards the center and attached by two clips

Then just to keep from loosing it I place the nut back loosely

Next I moved to the battery

there are five of those center pull clips and it comes right off
then the plastic piece behind it has two clips

Also unhook the tube (washer fluid?) from the bottom

Now you can access the wiring harness boot

I decided not to cut a hole into it (if you want to save time this is much faster and easier just be sure to silicon it back shut so you wont have leaks)
Instead I carefully just the electric tape off

Then after freeing up the boot from the tape slide in the power cable (use the end going to the amp)

This is by far the hardest part you will have to push on the cord pretty f.....n hard to get it in there I used he fat part of a screwdriver and a crescent wrench handle to hold this thing open so I could slide the cable in.
Eventually it will pop out inside the dash board I reached up in there and just grabbed it as soon as I could get a grip on it. Its way up in there so no pic but if you look you will see it. and pull it out

Now its all easy you can do as I did where you move pieces as you run wire or just jump the gun and pull everything out at once (I didn't because I was in the apt parking lot and it was getting dark)
Anyway pop up the carpet and weather stripping

tuck wire under moving to the center between the doors where your going to have to pop up the back door sill and carpet as well

then the center just pulls straight out (towards the inside of the car) with a clip on each side

I ran the wire inside of the seat belt harness but you can go under the carpet if you would prefer

On to the seat which is omg easy simply pull little clip in front of the seat and lift just the seat

next run you wire under the seat area and just push it behind the flap you will feel
Didn't take a pic because well I just felt and was like lift this there's metal push wire.
Move to the trunk and pull out all of the flooring/ carpet
also pop off the side cover with the three tabs

two big ones with rings work just like the little ones
lift up the back piece and you should see your wire poking out

Again it was getting dark so I put everything back together and re wrapped the boot in electrical tape again not a place to cheap out.

Tomorrow I'll mount the ground and take out my old sat receiver since the new one should be on the way soon. I'll post pics up of how to mount it as well
Hopefully I have time to tap my aux wires into the system.

Ohhh man I'm sorry I just realized I never finished this. I'll pop the rest up this weekend. Yeah it's hard to see from the floorboard up but the easiest way is to just cut the little rubber boot. I'm just a little bit of a perfectionist when it comes to wires. Don't feel bad I love the extra bass but it's cheap craigslist infinity reverence I want to upgrade the whole system. But right now paying it off is first priority. Post up some pics let's see what you have going.

Ok so starting with the easier stuff the Sat Radio box
NOTE there are two kinds

My 06 needs the smaller one........ sucks cause I have had them both the larger one will work but wont mount here....
top right hand side of the trunk above the bluetooth box wires should be a little further to the right maybe tucked behind the "carpet"

Anyway
run the sat antenna through this hole and you can set on your rear deck or somewhere in the cab
also far right

then you should be able to find it behind the rear passenger seat by leaning it forward and removing the carpet and just sticking you hand in the hole.

Now back to the speakers ..... the way I did it after much searing is from the blue plug (pre amp unless I got it backwards) going into the amp.

peel back some of the tape on the harness and look for these wires

Before you go hacking away I bought one of these from Radio Shack (yes I work there no you don't have to buy their shizzz)

its nice because one side plugs into your amp and the other looks like this for splicing

And then you just get some wire tap plugs.
look like this
number off the top is what the shck guys go by and its in the parts drawers

Ok so I clipped into the pink blue wires and the yellow brown(maybe orange) and then the green by itself as my remote. I'll double check tomorrow or sometime when I don't have to get up in five hours for class.
and if I can do it right here are some of the links I used in my massive searches

Not sure how correct the set up I have is for left and right but I can say that the remote works perfectly. Any input on why the wires changed colors for sedan to coupe or 04 to 06 from some of the Elders would be much appreciated.
