PA11-NIS : ipod connection

hi,
i've been searching around and found out about this PA11-NIS.
I want to confirm that this will work for my brother's car before i make a purchase.
he just wants to be able to play songs using stock HU from iphone 4. Controlling the volume with steering buttons is not that important unless the price is similar.

Will this work on 06 g35 coupe with bose system? I ve seen yes and no answers..
Also, will it work for ipod AND iphone 4 or any other mp3 devices?

thanks

PA11 is old. The 06 Coupe should use the PA15-INFI or the PA15-NIS. The difference is the NIS connects directly behind the headunit, and the INFI connects in the OE XM radio in the trunk. It should be pre-wired, but double check (remove spare tire, and plastic trim on the left side, will see the BOSE amp/bluetooth module etc, should be a connector just hanging there might have to look/feel around).

Can't change songs with the steering wheel, but volume works fine.

This the thread for more info and a pic of the pre-wire harness: https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-v...pa15-infi.html

thanks for the link. i read most of the pages in the thread.
Looks like quite a bit of people have problems with p15..like, music plays on iphone but the sound doesn't come out of the radio, the sound quality goes bad in a few weeks or months, and etc..
if i buy, i'll be buying on ebay which won't be covered under warranty anymore according to USA SPEC..

I dunno. Had one in my wife's FX35 for a few years with no problems. No problems so far since putting one in my G a few months ago.

Wait, so the PA15-NIS can't change songs on the steering wheel? I thought it can..?

No, because it basically tricks the radio into thinking it's an XM radio module. If you're listening to FM stations, or have XM already, clicking the steering wheel cycles through your 6 preset stations. The PA15 uses the preset stations for things like artists/playlists/all songs/aux so using the steering wheel causes weird things to happen. You use the TUNE button on the radio to change songs, it's on the left and in the coupe it's not like you're reaching very far to push to a button. Not a big deal to me, and it's my understanding the OEM ipod adapter from this time frame behaved exactly the same way.
