#1 RESEARCH--The more research I did, the more comfortable I became with the install even before I had ordered any parts. I familiarized myself with other member's installs and pictures as references. Printed similiar installs and put together a general guide to help myself. I was pleasently surprised once I started. It's quite simple. You will buy the Metra wiring harness for nissans, match all the colors to the HU wiring harness, then plug the harness straight into the factory connections. Viola! It really is just connect the colors---plug and play. Don't be intimidated.

**The bummer part is that you will have to buy a JDM DD which I bought for $295 shipped, or buy a Metra dash kit which costs roughly $180.**
Nice install...I'm sure its been answered a million times but whats the significant difference between the metra kit and the JDM...and why did you opt for JDM over the other?

Also could you post a picture of you using the motion X navigation on the screen?

I still think needing an iphone to really use this radio is silly. I could more understand you saying if you have an iphone, you need this radio.
What phone do you use with your 4400? I paid $365 shipped w iphone cord for my 3200.

Thanks---

The difference is the finish of the kit----the JDM is identical looking....the metras the color is off slightly and the buttons are grey rubber instead of the OEM black plastic.

Ill post up a pic of motion X....I take my pics with my phone so I'll need to get another camera first lol.

Install looks great!

The whole purpose of putting all the iTard stuff on there is so Apple users would know they can plug their Apple product into it.
Android is much much simpler. USB drive or BlueTooth audio device.
Pioneer made the DVD player unnecessary as of the P4200. Everything it will play off DVD, it will also play off USB. The motor that spins the dvd around can generate a lot of heat. USB has no moving parts.
USB will play MP3, Divx, Xvid codecs, and it would be nice if they threw in h264. A 16gb thumb could hold like 20 avi movies.

I definitely want this head unit real bad.

I see your point but I like to be able to play CDs or DVDs if necessary. I still rock SD cards as well. I havent used the USB because I would have to unplug the iphone connect from the cord IIRC...I should look into this...

Nice looking install man, congrats!

Where did you run your AUX cable for USB and ipod hookup?

Also- I see you have your HU gapped at the top, I have mine gapped on the bottom and flush on top....it rubs a tad bt when opening/closing/angle + etc. Are you going to adjust it to make even gaps or fill the existing?

I cut a piece of plastic and sprayed it black... mine still doesnt look 100% but looks good.

I have a crap phone. I use the bluetooth to talk on the phone, USB for a flash drive loaded with music and vids. The only thing I use my phone for is talking and picture taking. I like having a $45 phone bill. Well, honestly, I'd like it to be less.

Here's a pic of the motion-X. This is the free version. VERY basic interface. Not high-tech map looking or anything but works well when I need it. The main draw-back is I have to use my phone to input locations, etc. Basically it is streaming bing maps to your phone to HU.

If your talking about the bypass, they have ones for the newer Pioneer's on eBay. I installed one today on my P4400BH and it worked fine.
