you would need to get the auto-EQ mic... http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...onents/CD-MC20

it determines the best EQ settings for your car's acoustics and sets it up automatically. worth it? eh...

If you like the way is sounds I wouldn't bother with it
Yes, you're right. Unfortunately the Ipod cable plugs into one of the AUX jack in rear as well as the rear USB input. But on the rear, there is a dedicated AUX input for reverse camera and mabe another? I'm not exactly sure. I do have a rear mount Infra-red camera I took out of my maxima I plan to hook up soon.

Thanks----I like the way it sounds as is, I doubt I would ever use that thing to adjust the EQ. I listen to so many different types of music, I'll just adjust the pre-set EQ on the unit(has about 6 IIRC) then there is another called "custom" that you can save your own setting in.

I do hate that that piece is $300 BUT If i do sell the car I will put the stock radio and trim back in the car and sell the JDM trim. They still sell used on this site for 290+. So the initial investment is worth it in my mind bc If i do change my mind chances are I can get 80-90% of my investment back on the JDM DD and AC controls as I keep my parts in pristine condition.

Then I can also take the HU out and put in the next car I buy! Thats what I did from my maxima to G.

its not too bad. it does require using some resistors (comes with) and programming, which is tricky if you've never put them in before..

I had one of these, LOVED IT!!!!! But I just could simply not get everything working correctly. Are you going to be running the bypass so you can watch while driving?

SO you have to cult and splice for steering wheel install no matter what?!? That does not sound very appealing to me.

I thought you still install the harness and thats it?

I love this HU! It is a complete 180 from the stock CD changer, what a joke!

Everything is working flawlessly for me. I'm running the bypass(which was super easy to install) I bought one off ebay for $12. I would have made my own but by the time I bought the wire, rubber shrink wrap and the relay, I would have spent $12 or more.

IMO you HAVE to run a bypass to be able to make use of the unit's full capabilities!!

Thanks for the link! I think It looks way more difficult than it should be just because of the pure fact it looks to be giving members headaches since '08!

UGH and by looking at all the frusterated posts and problematic issues, It is really not worth the hassle to me. Plus I can't solder effectively!

The thing is, I havent had this car but a month and a half or so...I'm coming from a 1996 maxima to an 05 G sedan SOOO I'm pretty happy as is. LOL

The good thing is I havent had the time to get used to the steering wheel controls in the G and since I'm typically running pandora or playing music video DVDs, I tend to look down a lot to see what is playing AND mostly to change/scroll through the menu to different pandora stations or DVD menu. Therefore I have to be touching the screen anyway..... regardless of if I had steering wheel controls or not.

SO I guess I just can't justify the hassle and Hack job I would have to do to the wiring, Knowing myself I'd probably mess something up.

I completely understand...

I love steering wheel controls, plus they're a bit safer. Man, you should see some other cars with SWCs... the G isn't too bad in comparison.

Its complex only because its all resistance to ground based.. multiple signals going through the same few wires.

I am glad its working for you, I switched to an Clarion then to an Alpine unit. My Alpine has been scratched up pretty bad though I think I will go back to the Clarion. But really a good product. I think I just got the bad one in the bunch.
