can't wait to hear real reviews! I also see that the 8400 has h.264 capability, but can't find out what files it can play... I assume .mp4's? HD or SD? Hoping it plays .mkv files, but probably not... I would order it right away if it plays all files like a home media player. Anybody who gets this, please post up. Thanks!

Yep you're right. Well I called Pioneer and the rep told me that they are "receiving a shipment at the end of this month," and that she would expect the dealers to have them by 4/1.

 

Super annoying! I have had everything needed for install for a month now.. as my AC/Stereo was crapping at as we all know happens at times on the 2003 lol... oh well hopefully its worth the wait.

Hi everyone, we've had a busy few weeks running our "March shipment" car electronics products through the final stages of QC (Quality Control) here in the U.S. prior to releasing them to our retailers.

Here's a quick update on the status of the following models (shipping status from our warehouses to our retailers - please be aware that it may take a few days for retailers to get the shipments on their shelves after they receive):

AVIC-X940BT: Shipped. Should be arriving to retailers now.
AVIC-Z140BH: Shipped, but a few days behind the AVIC-X940BT. Should be arriving to retailers early/mid next week.
DEH-80PRS: Shipping early next week.
AVH-P8400BH: Currently in final QC. Anticipated update next week.
AppRadio2: Currently in final QC. Anticipated update late next week.

That's a positive update, maybe they go to retailers next week and we see them the following..

 

Does anybody know any details about the h.264 support? .mp4 or .mkv? Any of last years AVIC-Z130BT owners here? It lists that it was supported in this model too.

 

I definitely read that mp4 is supported, possibly on the pioneer site. I believe that's one of the differences between the previous iPod control cable and this new one - aside from the advanced radio support. I don't remember about mkv though.

 

would i need anything else for my 05 premium bose system? the HU looks too legit, but id like to (if possible) have steering wheel controls intact and also to have it be compatible with my bose system
