Subwoofer problems: Works if I hit it.

Hey all. I just got my 03 Sedan. It's got 93k miles on but is in immaculate condition. However, the subwoofer won't work unless I open the trunk and physically the sub - which requires taking off the trunk liner.

Is it a loose connection on the sub or does it have something to do with the amp ? Thanks.

Could be something just loose.

I'd disconnect all the harnesses from it, make sure the wires are shoved in tight, and re-connect them. If that doesn't work, get somebody handy with a multimeter to test it when it isn't working to try and find where the fault lies.

there is a small box under the sub, it's the amp for the sub (hidden under the plastic) where the speaker goes ... somehow it goes bad and sometimes tapping it fixes the problem.....I've had that issue...... My solution:

Purchased a 10inch W6, got a converter, also added an amplifier, and viola no more issues !!!!

Yes, the JL 10w6 is definitely a solution
