XM Satellite Radio OEM DM, antenna spot

Greetings everyone,

I am the XM Satellite Radio OEM District Manager, If you guys ever have any questions feel free to ask away. I of course drive a G35. I also will send you guys links to special promotions if you are interested, and keep you up to date with the latest XM news.

Remember the current MSRP prices are

$400.00 - pre installed with all components. (appears as included feature on sticker)
$350.00 - for parts, not including installation when dealer installed

with waived activation fee and 2 months of free service.
*don't let anyone overcharge you for XM

By the way check out my antenna install that gives me excellent reception (I just have the XM Roady for now placed in my Cubby)

later guys.

P.S. Admins let me know if there is anything I can do to help the community

Wow thanks for the info good Sir.. I have a 2003.5 pre wired G and have not yet installed the sat radio... I really want to but can't justify it for a dry weather driver. I may just step up to the plate this spring.. With this nice PNW dry winter we are having I have driving my Girl a lot more than years past.. 6500 miles to boot! Woot!

TC

I have a 2004.5 and mine is prewired too. I have been interested in satellite radio for the longest time, I just don't know which one to go to. I have been waiting for special promos so let me know when there are some ok? Thanks a lot.

Your antenna location is not bad, but it does block some view of the CHMSL. Why not go all the way and hide it?! I have the Terk XMicro and installed it underneath the CHMSL housing. Reception is very good - although there are lots of terrestrial repeaters in the Wash DC area.

What kind of promos are you talking about? Feel free to PM me.

Noremac,

Can you provide pics of your satellite antenna install? I've been thinking about installing XM or Sirius and wasn't sure where I would mount the antenna. I don't want to mount it outside, so your install would probably be a good choice.

Thanks,
js.

Darn, I knew I should have taken a pic before putting the trunk liner back on.

But I'll try to describe the location on the sedan: When you remove the upper trunk liner (which is the black plastic piece underneath the rear shelf), you will see various holes/openings in the steel deck around the area of the third brake light. I simply placed the XMicro antenna (which has a strong magnetic mount) through one of these openings. It rests on top of the steel deck, just below the carpet/plastic trim of the rear shelf. You will find multiple locations to choose from. Pick one and go for a test drive to see if you get any dropouts.

What is this micro antenna you are talking about? I guess it can't be any uglier than the stock black OEM antennas.

The sports packages are absolutely selling me on this. I live in NY, and XM is the only product that covers my college hoops team.

Would I better off going with the stock install?

Or getting a portable XM receiver that I can then use in the car (I'd have to get the SAT to work as an AUX with that device, right?)

Hey g_wiz,

I have a couple of questions for you:

1. Why doesn't the XM radio display scroll? The "older" technology RDS on FM scrolls. And Sirius does scroll some (but you still have to push the button).

2. Why isn't the display consistent? After turning the volume up or down, I get different behavior (based on whether or not the RPT button has been pressed). If I have pressed the RPT button, it goes from volume display -> Station display -> Song title (I have it set to show the song title). If I have not pressed the RPT button, it goes directly from the volume display to the song title -- it does not show the station.

Thanks,
Dave
