AVH-P4400BH Installed

After looking at some threads in here:

- Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD

I wanted to replace my broken OEM receiver and remembered I had $400 worth of Best Buy gift cards sitting around so I went and bought $400 of Amazon Kindle gift cards and bought a AVH-P4400BH on Amazon. I bought the JDM Double Din kit 2 years ago but it was just collecting dust in my garage lol. I also bought the
Scosche Trim Scosche Trim
which was a better fit with some sanding and also the Bypass for the newer Pioneer models on eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pioneer-Parking-Brake-Auto-Override-Bypass-AVH-P4400BH-AVH-P8400BH-NEW-MODELS-/160727285145)

Here's some pictures!

On my ride to work I noticed that I can't get the video from my iPhone 4S to come on, only audio but when I put it into App Mode it works fine. Is this how it is designed? I thought I would be able to control and view my movies from the receiver.

Would anyone have any thoughts to as why this might be? I can watch DVD's fine and if it's in App Mode it works too, I just get no video if it's in the iPod mode.
