Any one has this Unit? JVC KW-NT300
Hi, anyone bought this new JVC Unit yet? Feedbacks would be great, also anyone know if this one has a detachable face plate for security reasons because i can't find the answer to this. Thanks.

Somewhere in here there's a thread that mentions how this one adds iHeart Radio in exchange for not having lifetime traffic updates anymore. You might try finding that, not sure if they mention the faceplate.
If you're going to spend $799 on a DD with navigation and a ***, I'd say save your money and look at either the Pioneer AVH-P4400BH or AVH-P8400BH. Neither of them have built-in navigation but they both support App Radio. So if you have an Android or an iPhone, you get full integration with multiple navigation apps (MotionX is available for purchase, Extra Mile is free, Google Maps on the iPhone also works, etc.). And both have a 7" screen.
Either one's cheaper - and then you can put the money saved toward getting rid of that awful factory amp.

TT that was me. However, I was comparing the KW-NT3HDT to the 30HD, I know nothing about the 300. OP I'm in the process of installing the 3HDT, spent 7 hours on it yesterday and hope to finish today. After a lot of research and listening to both of those units I'm very happy with mine. If you want a similar radio see if you can find a 3HDT on the web, you'll probably be able to pick up a new one for ~$500 if you shop carefully.

Thanks brotha! For those who said this is relatively easy, I'm jealous. Quick question, how do I tie into the reverse wire? Will the Metra harness take care of that or do I have to search the purple wire out from under the driver's side and tap directly into it? I really want the back up camera to work.
Locate the Transmission Control Unit (TCM) connector/harness, which is located behind the dash side lower RH (right hand) finisher -- finisher near floor on RH side of passenger foot/floor space (or kick panel).
According to the service manual the following pins/wires have the following function:
Terminal No: 38, wire color SB (Sky Blue), Item: PNP switch 3:
or
Terminal No: 41, wire color R (Red), item: Back-up lamp relay:
or
Terminal No: 47, wire color G/W (Green/White), PNP switch 3 (monitor):
Also, check out post #57 from this thread.
I hope this helps.

Here's what you want, it's the thick loom behind the driverside kick panel. There are more than one purple wire like this, so you'll have to do some testing to make sure you got the right one.
