I want to install a moded XBOX, but which one should I get. Spider, executer3, etc? I don't know which is best. I want to load all my MP3,s and play them. I will probably watch some DVD's. I won't be playing games though. So which one is the right one? Do any of them run windows or what OS do they run? Can someone explain these aspects of the XBOX install?

ive got a xenium.. although i hear the new xecutor3 is nice, and i would go with that if i were to buy one now. if youve never modded an xbox, or really just soldered in VERY TIGHT circuitry have a pro do it. there are a few reputable sites that will install one for you (modchipman.com comes to mind).

 

Thanks for the info. Does this new chip come pre-loaded with some sort of Operating System (ie, windows) and software, so I can play my MP3's and DVD's?

 

the xenium will come with a "legal" bios... you will need to ftp into the xbox (theres a built in client in the xenium OS), and upload a "better" bios, which will give you all the functionality you need. theres a few good sites ya need to know ...www.xbox-scene.com has tons of walkthroughs and you will need an irc client to join #xbins on EFnet to get all the OS's and BIOSs ya need. evolutionX is the easiest to get started up with as there is a dvd ya just burn and it will set everything up (most noob friendly)... avalaunch is my preference as i like the menu/skins better. just do ALOT of reading before you jump in, as you can make you xbox a nice paperweight by loading an improper bios. also make sure you know what version xbox you have, as the 1.6 is the MOST difficult to mod (older is better in this case). any more questions just pm me or drop me an email and ill try to point you in the right direction. good luck!
