Ipod Install w/ Sat
Ipod Install w/ Sat
I am having my XM Mod hooked up to my G35 next week. However, I was extremely impressed with the hardwire install job from g35ipod.com. Does anyone know if I am able to use my Tape Aux instead of the Sat Aux to accomplish this task? In addition, I have a 2003 G35 (one of the first releases) and have been told that theire are not harnesses that will allow me to do this integration. I have the Sat button and read the specs on the PAC interface which does not mention any restrictions. Does anyone know about any limitations?
I can tell you that you cannot have the factory SAT tuner and the aftermarket PAC AAI-NIS unit installed at the same time. The PAC unit will not allow this connection, since it actually does a job of pretending to be your sat tuner in the first place.
If you wish to install the AAI-NIS, you will have to forfeit the SAT tuner.
If you think about it, do you really need to have the SAT subscription if you have your iPod? I have mine installed, and I love the thing. I think I am better off without XM or Sirius.
