'05 Bose Radio Problems?
Well, sad to say I have the same issue. I sent an email to Infiniti regarding this. Frankly, I don't think I will hate Infinti for this as this is more of the Head Unit's problem then Infiniti (sometimes, things like this will get missed, and other things will get missed as well). I know that Mercedes, BMW, and others have problems too so I'm not to upset. I just hope they have a solution. Just got my car 2 weeks ago, btw.
Just a sugestion...swap out your front door drivers with something decent, and you will no longer need to have your treble set at +5. Problem solved. You will regret any time you spent with the stock drivers in the car. If you like a bright sound, I would recommend the MB Quart components I used in my G. I leave all my audio controls (on the factory HU) set at 0 and it sounds great. To address the bass, get a proper sub.
Disabling SSV will do the trick? No need to worry about the settings resetting if I disable the SSV? Hmm...maybe I'll try that. If not, I'm going to put up a stink with the people over in Gardena!

Bose sucks
This is my first post, as I just purchased my G35 4 days ago.
I traded my 1998 Lexus 300ES on a 2003 G35, and the first thing I said to the sales guy was, is this really a Bose !
I feel like I have gone backward to an AM radio, and I am not kidding, its that bad compared to the Lexus system.
The rest of the car, well what can I say, I could not be happier. I guess after reading all of this thread, I will be swaping out the head, and getting a real sound system in there.

Secondly, I notice that when I turn the radio on, the sound is a little on the dull side. When I click the audio button to see the settings, everything is the same as I left it. I have the treble on +5 all the time. In noticing that it sounds a little dull, I dropped it down to +4 and then back to +5 and it got clear all of a sudden. I do think something is wrong with that, and will be addressing it with my dealer soon. As for bass, by increasing it, the sound quality diminishes (unlike the Lexus, which only sounded better the louder you made it), I just leave it on +2 or +3.
Oh yeah, I'm a G35 Newb...Just got it last week! Diamond Graphite/Stone

I know that in all Bose integrated systems, even the car systems, they use an active equalizer that automatically adjusts for bass and treble at every volume level. This is why when you turn the system dramatically up, it will actually lower the bass output so that you can continue listening at higher volume levels without distorting the sound. Lower the volume, it increases the amount of bass. From my experience with Bose, they are all about natural sound and lifelike sound so it is hard to compare these systems to aftermarket sound systems that emphasize extreme lows, and high volume output... just keep that in mind. I personally tried to see if I noticed a difference but didn't discover any issues. My system sounds great for a "stock" system. You might want to check with Bose regarding if this is a problem with software. Alot of their systems today work off of software, and a simple upgrade may be the fix. Just my two cents!
