Got an 05 G35 coupe 6MT a few months ago and can't stand the sound system nor believe it only comes with 4 speakers with the rears being at your feet and bad quality. I updated the fronts but still not satisfied so im going to add a sub, make a fiberglass box like the 4080 and use a LOC since i dont feel like dishing out over $500 for a new HU and DD faceplate.

Got to thinking, would it be worth it to put 6 X 9's in the rear and disconnect the 6.5's down below? Theres already holes there so it shouldnt be too hard to tackle. Didnt find much on this subject, anyone have this setup currently?

may just upgrade the 6.5's for now then later on get a small amp for some 6 X 9's, not sure

Just my two cent, but if u upgraded the 6.5 in the.. to get them to sound the way they are supposed to u.. will need an amp to push them.. I don't think the stock HU has enough power to make them sound they were they are supposed too. Maybe if u run an amp to them.. it will give u the sound u are looking for at least better than the HU

Forget the 6x9s and just get a real sub.

I still am putting the sub in, just want some full sound as well.

I guess ill just get some 6.5's and deal with the 6X9's and amp later....any thoughts?

So long as the 6.5's are powered with an amp, that's a good way to do it.

Most loc's will have you 30db's down by 40hz

Not worth it.

"Most loc's will have you 30db's down by 40hz"

The loc limits your output where it most matters.
